However the Boot folder does not contain a file called "bootsect.exe" but does contain a several files called… bcd, boot.sdi, bootfix.bin, cdboot.efi and etfsboot.com should I substitute one of these file I'm not too sure what Vista screwed up, but have you tried using the "bootsect.exe" command to remove the Vista bootloader?
